The cream of fresh talent
is very important for the sustenance and adaptation of growth in the modern
banking sector. Structured training and a supportive work environment will go a
long way in helping freshers with limited practical experience. With the
implementation of HR strategies in training and development, and most
importantly, well-being, new employees will formally be given both skills and a
sense of being valued, hence creating a great work culture according to (McKinsey, 2023).
Much emphasis would be given to comprehensive training to bridge the skill gap
of freshers in both technical banking skills and soft skills relevant to
customer service and teamwork. It will be in line with best practices from the
Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), which requires
competency-based training as a foundation for long-term employee success (CIPD,
2022). This is often a mix of hands-on and mentorship. For instance, these
merge to guide the freshers in the banking processes through actively involving
them in real-life scenarios to bring out their confidence and technical
competence.
They
also want a friendly, inclusive workplace. Indeed, research proves that if the
Employee Value Proposition contains EVP focused on well-being, then job
satisfaction will be higher and turnover lower (Deloitte, 2023). Now, it has
been proved that frequent discussions and feedback opportunities become part of
our Employee Value Proposition where freshers get to bring forth their
experiences and concerns. It would also help bring a friendly atmosphere where
the person feels understood and appreciated, not just that it would help them
keep up with the development.
It will also comprise taking care of the mental and emotional well-being of
freshers in order to assure a positive working environment. According to BCG,
organizations that promote work-life balance and resources toward wellness are
going to retain their workforce better and improve morale among staff (BCG,
2023). I ensure, as a superior, that there are flexible work arrangements and
access to well-being programs focused on the management of stress and health,
in order to bring new employees comfortably into the demands in the banking
sector without compromising their well-being.
Freshers in the banking sector demand a multi-dimensional approach of HR:
tailor-made training, strong Employer Value Proposition, and commitment to
well-being. Looking forward to creating an environment where freshers will feel
supported, engaged, and ready to contribute toward the success of the bank with
these strategies in place.
